![]() | Ruth's Chris This photo was taken just after we finished installing the restaurant balcony guardrail. The carpet guy's were there after we finished and before the restaurant opened. |
![]() | The Flying Pig The finished project in place. Chef Mario on the left, owners Aaron & Roger Browning on the right were all very pleased with the finished result. The design is taken from the artwork logo that they are using to brand the "Flying Pig. More photo's are on the "In Progress" page. |
![]() | The Solar Light Pig Sign The original sign (photo above) was supposed to be the main outdoor business sign, but it became a work of art for the interior decor. For the outdoor sign the city of Oceanside wouldn't let Roger install any electric service, so I added solar lights. Check out the chargers in the ears. |
![]() | Pacifica in the Desert "Pacifica" is the name of a well known fine dining sea food restaurant in Del Mar and Palm Desert. Both restaurants have recently had facelifts. In the Desert, the designer Chris Burgin decided to emphasize their fish design logo with my metalwork. In this photo the 3 box lights were replaced with a glowing red "fish logo" and a rust finish box. I guess we'll have to have dinner in the Desert to get a photo of the fixture at night. |
![]() | Pacifica in the Desert The summer heat can be brutal, and the tile around the existing outdoor fire feature was in need of repair. Chris thought that a metal cover would outlast other choices. From the concept I decided to use a single sheet of Corten steel, about 450#'s worth. The firebox is stainless steel. |
![]() | East Lake Tavern & Bowl Bowling is back! And this new style of bowling alley is catching on across the country. This particular restaurant/bowling alley is the second of a new chain. We've helped with the theme design in the patio railing and hopefully will be doing more in this series. |

![]() | Bondi San Diego Gaslamp Quarter One of the main features of the restaurant is the Boab Trees. Made from hundreds of stainless steel abstract boomerangs. The structures provide seating for parties of 6 to 8 people inside the trees. Click here to see a real Boab Tree |
![]() | Bondi San Diego Gaslamp Quarter These four baskets are framed inside with stainless steel vertical ribs. During the day the baskets are on the ground and used for seating in the "Cafe Bar" . In the evening the baskets are raised to the ceiling to make more room in the dinning area. |
![]() | Bondi San Diego Gaslamp Quarter The entry to Bondi has this very unique street rail. The frame is painted black and the Boab leaf design is coated with a pewter like metallic coating (check out the work in progress page). Some of the leaves have stainless steel insets. the leaf pattern is taken from the Boab tree. Check out Bondi: http://www.thebondi.com |
![]() | Sunset Station Casino Las Vegas This is the Gaudi Bar at Sunset Station in Las Vegas, Nevada. This was our second job out of town that also had a very tight deadline. A chocolate brown clear coat over a natural steel finish. The gold is all gold leaf. |
![]() | Sunset Station Casino Las Vegas For the Gaudi Bar we also made the sconces that mounted on the surrounding outer pillars. The photo above shows the blown glass pendants with the wild freeform supports. We don't do glass but it did take a lot of careful fabrication to make the frames so they could fit the different glass shapes. |
![]() | Orleans Casino Las Vegas This is the Orleans Casino and was the first job that we did in Las Vegas. It was a huge job for us at the time. Just to give you an idea about how large this is, the shorter panel to my left over my head measured 15' wide by 8' high. The larger leaves are about 2' long. |
![]() | Frida/Otay Charlie Duesenberry of I.C.S. Restaurant Builders asked me to fabricate some very special details for the new Otay Ranch restaurant "Frida" some of the things we did were the stainless poles that support the wood lathe wall, and the suspended liquor display. It has lights, glass, tv's and weighs about a 1000 lbs. A very complicated piece. |
![]() | Frida/Glendale Is another "I.C.S. Restaurant Builders" project. A huge colorful mural on a curved slanted wall, glass tiles on the bar, a black reflective ceiling, and the backlit diagonal boxes are all visible from the street. Add the exceptionally good food, in a area close to Hollywood, and you're at the place to be. Check out the "In Progress" page |
![]() | Paradise Grill is a David Robinson Design restaurant in Del Mar. We did several pieces for this project. The fire and glass table feature is one of his tradmarks. Excellant food, service, great design. It is a very popular place. |
![]() | Roppongi in La Jolla These torches were originally made for another restaurant in Rancho Santa Fe. They're about 6" tall and have stainless steel baskets that hold the lava stone. I have to admit they look much better here. |
![]() | Miller's Field Glenn Miller, owner of the "Miller's Field" (used to be UNO) restaurant in Pacific Beach asked me to design and fabricate a structure that would hold 8 50" plasma screen t.v.'s for his elaborate remodel. This is the best kind of work for me. A client that trusts my design and fabrication ability, in a environment that will be enjoyed by a lot of people. Thank's Glenn |
![]() | Palm Desert, Ca. This is the grand stairway and balcony rail for "Maison Felice", a european antique gallery in Palm Desert. I worked with the client's designer for the final design. |
![]() | The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe added some cottages for guests. Their need is to maintain an old California traditional style. These gates were forged with 1 inch solid steel bar. The hand forged hinges with bronze bushings and stainless steel pins should last a lifetime. A bronze patina finish completes the look. |
